On July 18, 2023, the Duncanville City Council created a brand new nature preserve ordinance making way for Duncanville’s first nature preserve — the 42-acre Charles F. Ladd Nature Preserve in the heart of our community. On March 4, 2025, the Master Plan was approved as researched and completed by Halff and Associates and Lake Flato architects, Blackland Collaborative and the citizens of Duncanville.
